Nongoma creche update

The new building at Nongoma is nearing completion and should be ready for occupation some time in March. When completed, it will provide a pre-school facility for 65 orphans currently being cared for on a daily basis at the primary school next door.

So far the principal and one of the staff members have been taken through our training programme. The plan is to infiltrate the primary school class-by-class every year as grade R’s graduate from our pre-school.

The challenge we face right now is in equipping the new pre-school. We need: kiddies’ plastic chairs, tables, desks, carpets, curtains, clothes, shoes, mattresses, blankets, pillows, heaters, fans and playground equipment for the little ones. And of course educational material & toys, ECD curriculum, stationery, pictures, etc. Also a microwave, fridge, TV and DVD player, stove, kettle, cutlery & crockery, and computers, tables, desks, chairs, etc. for the office.

If you are capable and willing to come and help in a very rural setting to get the creche going, it would be wonderful! We also need donations of goods or cash, and your help in telling friends and business contacts about the very worthy project. Thank you.
